Geosciences and engineering consultancy Knowledge Reservoir has released the 2010 version of its deepwater knowledge base, ReservoirKB. The online resource contains detailed analog, technical, and statistical information for 290 fields, more than 900 associated reservoirs, and more than 1,240 wells in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico (GOM) a significant increase from the previous version. 

The 2010 release has added nearly 100 more fields, 250 reservoirs, and 200 wells, making it the most comprehensive knowledge base on the market, according to the company. Several improvements have been made to the application, including: 

• A completely redesigned user interface
• New user-defined tables
• New user-defined charts
• New user-defined statistics
• GIS map navigation
ReservoirKB includes several key factors, which are individually assessed for all fields, such as:
• Estimated total hydrocarbons in place
• Expected peak production and plateau length
• Flow efficiency and maximum safe production rates
• Geospatial well paths
• Expected ultimate recovery and recovery factors. 

In addition, it provides coverage of all deepwater productive sands discovered in the GOM, constituting reservoirs currently either in production or sanctioned for development. The service provides continually updated reservoir performance metrics not available from any other single source, including analogs, lessons learned, and regional knowledge. The knowledge base provides a unique combination of reservoir engineering data, geological description, production data analysis, and regional knowledge.
