With the aim of delivering the most accurate subsurface information in the shortest amount of time, oilfield software provider Landmark has unveiled its new SeisSpace R5000 software system. The software reportedly provides processing gains for large volumes of seismic data and superior seismic imaging, all within an open processing platform.

Landmark, a brand of Halliburton’s Drilling and Evaluation division, states that SeisSpace R5000 allows users to manage seismic data with greater efficiency on the latest multicore central processing units and storage devices. In addition, the software provides more effective noise suppression from a suite of 3D applications including a 3D FKK filter, spatial mix and FX-Y decon, and a new surface-related multiple elimination tool.

Because the software makes prestack seismic data more easily available to the interpreter, it encourages collaborative interpretive processing workflows that allow seismic processors to become more vital contributors to the asset team, according to Landmark. The fact that the software package provides an open platform means that it can also support a user’s proprietary technology and specialty processing services.

SeisSpace R5000 supports visualization of 3D, 4D, and 5D prestack volumes and provides a direct connection and publishing link to Landmark’s OpenWorks project database, which allows interpreters to seamlessly access data and collaborate with processors. This allows seismic processors to view their entire 3D seismic survey at once, and interactively work anywhere in the survey to test parameters, remove noise, and condition data for interpretation.

Landmark states that SeisSpace is part of a larger product release under the R5000 brand, which includes upgrades to more than 70 products from all E&P disciplines. All R5000 technologies reportedly offer E&P companies greater levels of integration, the ability to customize workflows, and the opportunity to achieve greater insight into their surface and subsurface assets.

All R5000 software releases are available via Landmark’s Software Manager (LSM), an electronic interface that enables customers to download products at their convenience, as well as review release notes and an installation guide. The LSM allows customers to efficiently track their download history, including applications and corresponding versions.
